Stephen Cheifetz

Stephen CheifetzStephen Cheifetz is a corporate commercial lawyer whose practice includes mergers and acquisitions. He assists clients with acquisitions, financing needs, shareholders arrangements, tax matters and general corporate advice. He has worked with Canadian, US and European clients involving a variety of industries including manufacturing, IT, agriculture and internet businesses.

He focuses on incorporation, forming of partnerships, the purchase and sale of businesses, shareholder agreements, reorganization of businesses, insolvency matters, tax appeals, and other general corporate matters.

Stephen is a sessional instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, where he teaches Cross Border Sales Financing and Secured Transactions to students in the Canadian American Dual JD program. Stephen has also taught business law at the University of Windsor.

He has also lectured throughout the US on doing business in Canada. Stephen was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Essex Law Association.
