Jonathan Wiesenthal
Jonathan applies his diverse legal and non-legal background to deliver tailored, quick and common-sense litigation solutions for his clients.
Jonathan holds degrees from McGill University, the London School of Economics (Master’s – International Economics and Politics) and the University of Windsor Law School. As an undergraduate, Jonathan completed LSE’s prestigious General Course program with concentrations in International and Domestic Economics and Policy Development. At LSE, Jonathan received intensive instruction in international finance and trade and specialized in the mechanics of cross-border, domestic and international business transactions.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jonathan worked for three years as a Constituency Assistant to an MP, rising to the position of Special Assistant and Constituency Director. This work entailed daily advocacy and negotiation with departments at all levels of the federal, provincial and municipal governments. He also worked at the Canada Revenue Agency.
As a litigator, Jonathan applies his unique experience and access to the inner workings of government to deliver tailored litigation solutions for his clients. Jonathan relies on his knowledge of customs, cross-border, US-Canadian trade and domestic and international taxation policy to help clients with business operations in Canada and the United States to prosper. He actively seeks opportunities to connect Ontario and Michigan businesses with an aim to mutual prosperity and invites individuals and businesses on both sides of the border to get in touch.
Jonathan believes that access and face-to-face meetings are critical for developing effective client-solicitor relationships and for realizing legal objectives. Corrent & Macri, LLP’s unique location allows Jonathan to meet Detroit Region clients in twenty minutes.
Jonathan lives with his wife in the Town of Essex. Jonathan’s Essex Office, located immediately across from Town Hall with convenient municipal parking, ensures his clients receive quality litigation help where they live. Jonathan believes in strong communities and in being a good neighbour, serving on various local and national charitable boards. Through his Essex practice, Jonathan seeks to minimize client travel, thereby allowing his clients to devote precious time to their families and businesses.
Jonathan started his career in insurance defence. He is uniquely qualified to challenge low-ball offers by insurance companies to settle claims. He invites individuals and businesses facing such challenges to contact him today for assistance.
Jonathan provides legal services in English, French and Hebrew.
